This math unit was written for a grade 4/5 class during one of my practicums. It was co-written with another teacher candidate from the Thompson Rivers program. This short mini unit is comprised of a lessons that focus on hands-on learning with the use of many different materials, as well as having students focusing on documenting their learning and findings through the use of the scientific method. This unit is something that I am proud of, however if I were to ever use it again I would change how much teacher involvement there was and give the students more power of choice. As well, I may cut back on the amount of resources needed to complete the experiments.

This is a song that my fellow teacher candidate and I co-wrote for our previous science mini unit. We sang it with the students daily and it was a great way to build rapport with our students, integrate art into our science lessons, and help students with vocabulary and definitions.
